CROSS COUNTRY - TREVOR STRAUGHN PRIMARY SCHOOL'S CHAMPIONSHIP

St. Gabriel’s entered the Trevor Straughn Memorial Cross Country at the Wildey Gymnasium. We won the girls J3-J4 division with Layla Haynes setting the fastest time of 6.54, in a distance of 1600m. There was another outstanding performance by Tytan Hinkson who placed for with a time of 4:54, in a distance of 1200m. All of the others improved their personal best times. Congratulations to everyone. Thank you to the parents we came and supported the children.

BADMINTON-

The Badminton team performed very well. The boys team placed first with some outstanding contributions from Russell Butcher placed first in two divisions, Elim Arthur second in his division and Marcus Jordan 3rd in two divisions.
the girls team did not place however, they show tremendous improvement and a desire to pursue the sport further. Congratulations to all who participated.

SWIMMING-

Report – Finals of The Purity Primary Schools Swimming Competition at the Aquatic Centre

Our small team of 12 swimmers performed beyond expectations, all exceeding their personal bests.

The swim team delivered an encouraging performance at The Aquatic Centre, during the Purity Primary School Meet.

Nysa Phillips-Maund at age 6 swam in the free, breast and back strokes won best swimmer in her age group while Christopher Blades placed 2nd in the 25m freestyle, Adi Deane won bronze in 25m back stroke. All others show improvements in their times. We thank all of the other finalist Adara Stoddard, Sanaa Walton, Daniel Lashley, Luisa Barros dos Reis, Lidia Barros dos Reis, Zach Anthony, Fynn Armstrong, Marcus Jordan, Megan Cyrus, Bianca Jordan.

Congratulations to all swimmers.  Our grateful thanks to Mr. Vincent Smith (Games Teacher) and parents for their support.

CROSS COUNTRY -

We participated in the annual Trevor Straughn Memorial Cross Country Run. Our Cross Country team showed improvement with each athlete improving their personal best times. Two of our female students placed in the top 10 - Layla Haynes (J3G) placed 6th and Danielle Treasure (J4L) placed 10th out Of 106 Primary school aged girls.

Marcus Jordan (J2C) ran a remarkable race coming from behind to pass over 130 boys, eventually place 31st.

Congratulations to all students who represented the School and a big "Thank You" to Coach

Mrs. Meredith Mottley-Haynes for her assistance.
